Wake Up, It Is the FIRST Bears/Packers Game

Walking into Lambeau yields a certain reverence.  The echoes of Curly Lambeau, Don Hutson, Reggie White, Bar Starr – hell, Donald Driver seem to encompass the atmosphere.  Then you see the disgusting green and gold.  Have these people ever seen a color wheel?  Probably not given half of them didn’t pass the fifth grade.  Fetal alcohol syndrome will take a toll over the generations.

Jokes aside, the real frustration begins when you see those marquee lights over the words “Titletown”.  Record be damned, nothing gets under my skin more than “Title Town”.  Cheeseheads delight in mocking the Bears for their one outdated Lombardi, failing to recognize that two of their four are from the sixties (take that!  TWO of your FOUR are from a while ago).  Incredulous thoughts are hard to push past when viewing Titletown given that the Steelers, Patriots, Cowboys, AND 49ers hold more Lombardi’s.  The damn Giants hold the same amount of championships as the Packers, hell!  The Chiefs do too, and they did two back-to-back!  Fuckin’ A man https://youtu.be/WVzp4MJRKHc?si=u7hrsrEPFa646E23

Perhaps this is all coping.  Perhaps I’m nervous that we’re playing the Packers in Lambeau at such a pivotal moment in our season during a pivotal moment in our franchise history.  Woof, I need some Malort.

The upcoming Bears schedule is… winnable.  We have at Packers (could win!), vs Browns (should win), vs Packers(SHOULD win), at 49ers (could win!), and vs Lions (might lose!).  This puts the Bears at a solid 12-5.  Now, am I thinking a deep playoff run?  Oh my God I want to, but we have to beat the Packers.  If we can beat the Packers in Lambeau… anything is possible…. Mabe even 13-4…

EDITOR'S NOTE: I was informed by my dear friend Jim (of Green Bay residence) that the reason they use "Titletown" is also due to their THIRTEEN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS from 1929 to 1967. We've reached University of Alabama levels of claiming titles. To that I will give a respectable Roll Tide.
