BEARS VOTE TO SCREW THE FANS

                Hearing “the Giants and Jets play in East Rutherford New Jersey” as an argument for the Bears moving to Indiana is painful.  Not just because it sounds like nails on a chalkboard, but because it’s also a really bad argument.  Deep breaths…

                Who the hell wants to model their franchise after the Jets or Giants in the first place?  I’m sorry, is that supposed to help me cope?  By comparing my NFL team to the JETS and GIANTS???  Yes, the two franchises known for little to no controversy, smart trades, and sustained success.  I mean have you SEEN Metlife???  What a beauty!  What a sight to behold!  See, the Bears could be just like them!  Doesn’t that make you feel better Bears fans?

                I might actually crash out.

                Ask any Chicagoan what the unifying team for this city is and I think a majority of the time you get a resounding “Daaaaa Bears”.  This city is a football city.  Despite the woes of recent memory and the crumbling spaceship in a coliseum, Soldier Field is a raucous environment.  This city bleeds Navy Blue and Orange.

                Today the Chicago Bears board of directors voted to move forward with the team moving to Hammond Indiana.  Adding insult to injury, their statement said that it was a “unifying” opportunity for the city.  Apparently, it is closer than Arlington Heights.  I ask, by what measure?  Yes, slightly closer if you live on the far south side or are a tourist staying in the loop.  What about the west side?  The southwest side?  The north side?  What about the amazing transit opportunity we were supposed to have with the Metra at Arlington Heights?  But all of a sudden, HAMMOND INDIANA is the most convenient location for travelling???  What a complete clown show of an organization.  McCaskey’s have enough money to build a stadium in Illinois without a gross overuse of taxpayer dollars.  These are not good people that run our team.

                The McCaskeys do not give a damn about the Bears and it is truly disgusting.  They and Kevin Warren should be driven out of town.  This organization masterminds the art of one step forward (Finally!  A good team!) and 3 steps back.

                I’m not even going to edit or proofread this one.  This is an honest to goodness emergency rant from one of many pissed off Bears fans.  This is a slap in the face to all of us.  “You’re the pride and joy of Illin- oh, my bad!  I mean the refineries and smog of northwest Indiana.  Completely forgot!  I guess I’m the asshole here!”

                A billionaire family is throwing a temper tantrum because they didn’t get the tax breaks they wanted after spending a small fortune to buy and tear down Arlington Heights.  Sure the politicians in Illinois aren’t known exactly for playing by the rules, but anyone who puts 100% of the blame on the legislature surrounding this; I wish I could shake you.  Get a grip and touch grass.

                Should the Bears truly build the stadium in Indiana.  Let this be remembered as the days both Packers and Bears fans came together to say “fuck the Bears organization."
